Cannot install Axis. HTTP 404 Not Found instead of Requirements Page
  1. Enable the mod_rewrite extension with apache configuration:
    1. Set AllowOverride to All in your apache config
  2. Set the correct value for RewriteBase option in AXIS_ROOT/.htaccess file (line ~7). If your url looks like example.com/axis - /axis/ should be the value for RewriteBase
I can see only the home page. Any other pages are not working.

After installation I've received a message "PCRE unicode support is turned off". What does this mean?

This means that you will not available to use the search functionality.

You need to install mbstring extension.

You can do this by uncomment the line in php.ini file:

extension=php_mbstring.dll

If the extension is already loaded, but you still see this message, this means that your mbstring extension doesn't have the PCRE unicode support. See the example how to fix this issue on the mediatemple hostings: http://wiki.habariproject.org/en/Installation_on_Media_Temple#PCRE_Unico...

How can I customize the look and feel of Axis?
Axis have a fallback theme system wich works in the next way:
  1. Finds the file from the active theme (Custom is the active theme by default)
  2. If file doesn't found - search for it in fallback theme
  3. The last place to search is the default theme

You can copy the template or css file from the default theme to the active theme and make the changes in the copied file.

What is the fallback theme? When do I need to use it?

Fallback theme — is a special theme for the custom modules that needs to override the default templates/helpers or add new templates/helpers/js/css/images. The main reason to use fallback theme — is to keep the default folder clear from custom changes and make custom code available for all of themes

How can I update search indexes?

You can update the search indexes inside administrator panel in /admin/cache. Press the 'Update Search Indexes' button in the right upper corner.

How to upgrade Axis to the newer version?
  1. Backup the old store
  2. Download and unpack the latest Axis version over the old store
  3. Navigate to administrative panel cache management: http://example.com/admin/cache *
  4. Press disable all button
  5. Go to modules management: http://example.com/admin/module
  6. Press the 'Upgrade All' button in the left side of the grid
  7. Upgrade completed. Now you can turn on the cache if you need it

* If you cannot login to admin panel you can install upgrades from the frontend:

  1. Open config.php with file manager: AXIS_ROOT/app/etc/config.php
  2. Find the line 'applyUpgrades' => false
  3. Change this line to 'applyUpgrades' => true
  4. Save the file
  5. Open AXIS_ROOT/var folder and remove/rename the cache folder to cache.old
  6. Navigate to your store - all updates will be installed automatically
  7. Now you can login to the backend

You can add the new page with the cms module. Navigate to Cms -> Categories/Pages.

Homepage consists from separate boxes.
Navigate to Design -> Themes, select active theme on the left tree and filter boxes by page: core/index/index - you will see the boxes that are showed on the homepage.

Some boxes are the Axis_Cms_Block_... Content of these boxes can be edited at Cms -> Statick Blocks page.

If one of your child's legs is longer than the other leg, he or she has a common problem known as leg length discrepancy. A typical difference in leg length can be anywhere from one centimeter, which usually does not cause any problems, to more than six centimeters. The greater the discrepancy, the more your child must compensate his or her normal posture and walking pattern in day to day life, which can lead to a variety of symptoms, such as functional scoliosis, hip, knee and ankle problems.

There are generally two kinds of leg length discrepancies:

Structural discrepancy occurs when either the thigh (femur) or shin (tibia) bone in one leg is actually shorter than the corresponding bone in the other leg.
Functional discrepancy occurs when the leg lengths are equal, but symmetry is altered somewhere above the leg, which in turn disrupts the symmetry of the legs. For example, developmental dislocation of the hip (DDH) can cause a functional discrepancy. In DDH, the top of the leg bone (femur) that is not properly positioned in the hip socket may hang lower than the femur on the other side, giving the appearance and symptoms of a leg length discrepancy.
